Wood Dryer Emission Control
Air Group personnel witnessed the successful state compliance testing on Colt's largest single RTO to date. The 140,000 scfm 4 Chamber MAXIM™ RTO is designed to handle emissions from a flash dryer in a Medium Density Fiberboard plant.
The Colt MAXIM™ RTO replaced a competitor's 5 year old system suffering massive corrosion issues.
Issue
- Premature equipment failure due to chloride corrosion
- Large process capacity challenges unit efficiency
Solution
- Complete removal of the existing unit and site prep for new RTO
- Custom designed 4 chamber MAXIM™ RTO system
- Fabricate RTO from 1/4" 316L stainless steel material
- Utilize hybrid heat transfer media to maximize heat recovery
Results
- 140,000 scfm MAXIM™ RTO handles large-scale process loads
- Colt's hybrid media reduces pressure drop and resists plugging
- Media increases service life of beds, reducing system downtime
- RTO tested in compliance with all emission standards
